On June 16th twenty years ago, the Lord presented us with our first granddaughter. To say she has been a blessing is an understatement. This year her birthday fell on Father's day...we wanted to make Xena's birthday especially memorable for her this year because this is the first year she is without her Papa...Papa Bear was not only her grandfather but her surrogate Dad and we KNOW he would want her to have the BEST birthday ever...SO, she was surprised throughout the day with gifts and we took her to Anoka to the Mad Hatter Tea house for a very "girly" brunch. She decided to "go forties" in her wardrobe choice. Afterward, she wanted to take a "backroads drive" home and explore the little towns along the way. This was one of Papa's favorite things to do, he loved to take roads trips with his girls...We stopped at little "cheese shop" that sold buffalo meat and interesting jams and cheeses...we also stopped in a cute little town called Taylor was very BUSY with had the CUTEST library. And for a late dinner, we ate at The Hubble House...the drive was very cathartic...we sang...we laughed, and we reminisced about our Papa and how he is rejoicing with the Lord AND we will see him soon...
